Massim Lime Spatula

Massim lime Spatula

Object Type: Lime Spatula

Locality: Attributed to the Trobriand islands

Circa: 1900

Length: 23 cm

Material: Carved Ebony and trade beads

Description: This is one of the sweetest little spatulas I have come across. I think it was carved with neolithic tools. It was left to the granddaughter of missionaries who were in New Guinea in the 1930’s. It has the patina of a spatula used for at least a generation before it was collected.

If it doesn’t sell it can happily sit on my book case until I retire.
